ACT NATURAL
As you have seen, our artistic style is very natural and organic. We have a soft spot for quiet moments and genuine emotion,
and strive to capture your family in a beautiful and honest manner that reflects your true personalities and relationships.
With that said, we understand how awkward it can feel to “act natural” in front of the camera!
Don’t worry – Isabel will direct you into flattering angles and move you if anything looks off.
She’ll adjust your hands, hair, your chin, your stance, whatever necessary to help you look your best.
It is our job to think about how everything looks. It’s your job to have fun, relax and enjoy your family!

The best approach is letting your child know that we are going to go play and have photos taken, without too much hype or bribery.
Isabel has lots of experience with children of all ages and temperaments, and once she has a few quiet moments to connect personally with them, she has a deep bag of tricks to keep them relaxed, happy and engaged.
Keep in mind that children will often feed off of your energy, and it’s perfectly natural to feel anxious on session day. We’ll help you feel prepared and ready to go so you can avoid last-minute stress.
WHAT TO WEAR
Once we’ve determined where your session will take place, it’s time to think about clothing. Figuring our what to wear can be a source of stress for everyone – myself included!
We strongly recommend neutral tones and colors for several reasons…
First, clothing should never be the first thing you notice in a photograph. Often, bright colors and super-coordinated outfits will steal the show.
We want to keep the focus on you and your loving connection with your family, not your wardrobe.
Also, a neutral palette will always complement your home decor, no matter how your decorating taste changes over the years.
Lastly, neutrals coordinate together without a lot of thought. It’s much easier to put outfits together for the whole family when you’ve narrowed down the color palette.
These neutral colors fit perfectly with our light and airy organic style:
WHITE | CREAM | GRAY | CHARCOAL | TAUPE | GOLD | EARTH TONES
SOFT PASTELS SUCH AS SKY BLUE, LAVENDER, LIGHT PINK, AND CORAL
Skip black, red, hot pink, teal/aqua and anything neon. These colors do not photograph well and are not flattering for most skin tones.
Dads should go with a solid colored sweater, henley tee, polo shirts or button downs in the same tones as above with light jeans, corduroys or khakis.
New mommies look beautiful in layers, like a flowy top with a cardigan. And don’t forget accessories, like scarves, necklaces, stacked bracelets, etc.

PRODUCT GUIDE
Within 2-3 weeks of your session, we will gather at the studio for your Ordering Appointment where you will view printed proofs and choose from our carefully curated selection of
heirloom fine art products, including mounted prints, canvas, albums and books, announcements, and digital images.
Pricing is simple – just buy what you love! Everything is custom-tailored to you and what you need and want.

Once you’ve selected your artwork, we’ll order your products right away. Orders will be available for pick up at the studio once all of your products are ready, generally 2-6 weeks after your ordering appointment.
Ordered images will also be provided to you in a Mobile Image App for your phone.
RESERVING YOUR SESSION
To reserve your session date and time on the calendar, we must receive your Book Your Session and Agreement form and the Session Retainer.
Begin here to Book Your Session and once that form is received, we will send you a Paypal invoice to pay your Session Retainer.
